1 Then the high priest said "So, do you hold these things to be thusly?"2 And he said: "Men, brothers and fathers, listen! Yahweh of effulgence appeared to Abraham our father, who was in Mesopotamia before when he settled in Charran.3 And He said to him 'Depart from your land and from your kinsmen, and come to the land which I shall show to you.'4 Then departing from the land of the Chaldaeans he settled in Charran. And there after the death of his father He moved him into this land in which you are now settled,5 and He had not given to him an inheritance in it nor a footstep, yet He promised 'to give it to him for a possession and to his offspring after him,' there not being a child with him.6 But Yahweh had spoken thusly, that 'It shall be that his offspring sojourns in a foreign land and they shall enslave them and mistreat them four hundred years.7 And the nation in which when they shall be enslaved I shall judge, says Yahweh, and after these things they shall depart and they shall serve Me in this place.'8 And He gave to him the covenant of circumcision, and thus he begot Isaak and he circumcised him on the eighth day, and Isaak Jakob, and Jakob the twelve patriarchs.9 "And the patriarchs being jealous of Ioseph gave him up to Egypt, yet Yahweh was with him10 and delivered him from all of his afflictions and gave to him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh King of Egypt, and he appointed him governor over Egypt and over his whole house.11 Then came a famine over the whole of Egypt and Chanaan and great affliction, and our fathers did not find food.12 But Jakob hearing that there was grain in Egypt sent off our fathers the first time.13 Then with the second time Ioseph was recognized by his brethren, and the family of Ioseph was made known to Pharaoh.14 And Ioseph sending called for Jakob his father and all the kinsmen, with seventy-five souls.15 And Jakob went down into Egypt and he died, and our fathers,16 and they were moved to Suchem and buried in the tomb which Abraham bought for a price of silver from the sons of Emmor in Suchem.17 Then just as the time approached of the promise which Yahweh had promised to Abraham, the people grew and were multiplied in Egypt,18 until there stood another king over Egypt, who had not known Ioseph.19 He dealing craftily with our race mistreated the fathers, causing their infants to be exposed for which not to be produced alive.20 At that time Moses was born and was favored by Yahweh, who was raised in the house of his father three months,21 but upon his being exposed he was taken up by the daughter of Pharaoh and he was raised up as her own son.22 And Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was powerful in his words and deeds.23 "And as forty years' time were completed by him, he put up in his heart to visit his brethren the sons of Israel.24 And seeing one being done wrong he defended him, and made an avenging for him being subdued, smiting the Egyptian.25 And he expected the brethren to understand that Yahweh through his hand gives deliverance to them, but they did not understand.26 Then the next day he appeared to those who were fighting and he reconciled them in peace saying 'Men! You are brothers! For what reason do you do wrong to one another?'27 But he doing wrong to he near to him rejected him saying 'Who appointed you ruler and judge over us?28 Do you not desire to kill me in the manner that you killed the Egyptian yesterday?'29 And Moses fled upon this word and became a sojourner in the land of Madiam, where he had begotten two sons.30 And completing forty years a messenger appeared to him in the desert at Mount Sinai in a flame of fire in a bush.31 Then Moses seeing it wondered at the spectacle, and upon his going forth to observe it there came a voice from Yahweh:32 'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaak and Jakob' and being in trembling Moses dared not observe it.33 Then Yahweh said to him: 'Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place upon which you stand is holy ground.34 Seeing that I have seen the mistreatment of My people in Egypt and I have heard their moaning, then I have come down to set them free. And now come, I shall send you into Egypt.'35 This is Moses whom they refused saying 'Who appointed you ruler and judge?' Him Yahweh then sent as ruler and redeemer by the hand of a messenger which appeared to him in a bush.36 He led them out making wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the desert forty years.37 This is Moses who said to the sons of Israel: 'Yahweh shall raise up a prophet for you from among your brethren, even as me.'38 This is he who had been among the assembly in the desert with the messenger speaking to him and to our fathers at Mount Sinai, who received the living oracles to give to you.39 To whom our fathers did not wish to be obedient, but rejected and turned in their hearts to Egypt,40 saying to Aaron 'Make for us gods which shall go before us, for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what happened to him.'41 And they made a calf in those days and conducted a sacrifice to the idol and rejoiced in the works of their hands.42 Then Yahweh turned, and gave them over to serve the hosts of the heaven just as it is written in a book of the prophets: 'Have you offered to Me victims and sacrifices, forty years in the desert, house of Israel?43 And you have taken up the habitation of Moloch and the star of the god Rompha, the images which you have made to worship them, and I shall move you beyond Babylon.'44 "The habitation of witness was with our fathers in the desert just as He speaking to Moses prescribed to make it, according to the model which he had seen.45 Which also our fathers who succeeded brought in with Joshua into the possession of the nations which Yahweh expelled before the face of our fathers until the days of David,46 who found favor before Yahweh and asked to find a dwelling-place in the house of Jakob,47 and Solomon built a house for Him.48 But the Highest does not dwell in things made by hand, just as the prophet says:49 'The heaven is for Me a throne, and the earth a footstool for My feet. What sort of house will you build for Me? says Yahweh, or where is the place of My resting?50 Has not My hand made all of these things?'51 Stiff-necked and uncircumcised in hearts and in ears! Always do you resist the Holy Spirit, as your fathers, also you!52 Which of the prophets have your fathers not persecuted? And they killed those who announced beforehand concerning the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now been betrayers and murderers,53 who have received the law by arrangement of messengers yet have not kept it!"54 And hearing these things their hearts were cut through, and they snarled at him.55 Then being filled with the Holy Spirit, gazing at the heaven he saw the effulgence of Yahweh, and Yahshua standing at the right hand of Yahweh,56 and he said "Behold! I see the heavens have opened and the Son of Man stands at the right hand of Yahweh!"57 And crying with a great voice, clasping their ears then they hastened upon him with one accord.58 And casting him outside of the city they stoned him. And the witnesses laid aside their garments by the feet of a young man named Saulos,59 and being stoned Stephanos calling out then said "Prince Yahshua, receive my spirit!"60 And kneeling down he cried out with a great voice, "Prince, You should not account this error to them!" And saying this he fell asleep.
